Introduction to the Discipline of Architecture
I.General situation of the subject
 
Based on the Urban Planning Undergraduate Major approved in 2002 and the subject of Urban Planning established in 2004, and through many years of scientific research accumulation, the subject of architecture has been established and enrolling students since 2012. The research content of the subject covers major fields of the subject of architecture. The development of the subject is closelycombined with the geographical features of cold land architecture, and has clarified thestudy direction of being people-oriented and low-carbon ecology. The subject focuses on the intersection and interaction between subjects and the combination of theory and practice, to form the characteristics and advantages of the subject through taking architecture and technology, and adapting them to the cold land climate geographical features as the characteristics, and the cultivation of applicable and composite talents as the objective.
 
II. Academic Team
 
Relying on the undergraduate major of urban planning, the team has seven associate professors, ten lecturers, one engineer, three first-class registered architects, and five registered planners. It includes four postgraduate tutors in the first-class subject of architecture, whose constitution is mainly middle-aged and young teachers. The team belongs to a double-teachers educational team with a dynamic and creative research group.
 
III.Target and task of the subject development
 
The ranking of the subject will rise by 2020 and reach No. 2 in Heilongjiang Province, to form a steady scientific research team and scientific development direction, enlarged social service and influence, improved competitiveness of scientific research, achieving high-quality scientific research results. During the “13th Five-YearPlan”, the subject will strive to declare 2 national-class subjects, 2 provincial and minister class subjects, and bear more than 5 transverse scientific research programs and an expenditure of one million yuan, to strive for 1 postgraduate teaching reform research project. The subject will guide and support middle-aged and young teachers to declare subject topics, and encourage teachers to go abroad as exchange scholars and actively participate in academic exchanges. We will also look to hire foreign and domestic well-known experts to give lectures and conduct academic exchanges.
 
IV. Subject direction and research field
 
1. The protection study on the heritage of Eastern China railway architecture shall be in accordance with the features of the cities along the Eastern China railways of the northeast area, to conduct evaluation on the value of the relevant historical architecture, reform and update evaluations and related protection studies and practices.
 
2. To complete the study work of the sub-subject topic of national key R&D plan “Study on the Sub-Standard System of Industrialization Architecture Decoration”, toconduct the research of module construction technology of industrialization architecture standard and specification system, and the sub-standard system of industrialization architecture decoration. Set standards and regulation items rationally, and coordinate the applicable scope, major content and key technology parameters of all standard specification items in the module, to improve the degree of synergy of the project standards, and perfect industrialization architecture standards andspecification systems.
 
3. To complete the study project of National Natural Science Foundation of China “theConstruction Study of Independently-living Elders’ Living System under the Household-Supporting Pattern” with teachers from Harbin Institute of Technology. To realize the idea of constructing the living system of independently-living elders under the mode of the household-supporting pattern, set the objective system of the living system ofindependently-living elders, initiate the technology plan of the living system ofindependently-living elders, build the quantity evaluation model of the living system ofindependently-living elders and organize to carry out the practical application study ofthe living system theory of independentlyliving elders systematically.
 
4. The ecology architecture and technology in cold areas: the subject mainly engages in the scientific theory of architecture ecotype technology and design strategy, green architecture technology, healthy architecture technology, product technology integration architecture ecology design, planning and design of cold area ecology residential areas, as well as the design and study of the application of green building materials,especially taking eco-architecture and technology as the characteristics, which adapt to the geographical climate of cold areas. The eco-recovery and supervision study on the cold area road system: technology study on the greening and landscape facility layout of villages and towns in cold areas.
 
In addition, the subject strives to achieve breakthroughs and progress in the fields of urban design and planning, architecture parameterization and residential environment of the cold land.
 
IV.Target and quantity of talent cultivation
 
The postgraduate cultivation of the first-class subject of architecture adopts the tutor responsibility system, which focuses on the study method of combining theoretical study and project practice to cultivate the students’ ability of solving practical engineering problems. The first-class subject of architecture insists on taking social demand as theorientation, and wide scope and subjects-integration as the characteristics, which focuses on the cultivation of knowledge, ability and quality, to construct a scientific and rational course system, and to foster innovative and applicable talents with high quality. The tutor team of 6 academic postgraduate tutors has been planned to form during the period of 13th Five-Year Plan, while the annual number of student enrollment will increased from 7 to 10 gradually. At present, the number of students at the school is 25, and the construction of a second-class subject will be detailed when conditions permit.
 
V.The impact and social service of the subject
 
Through many years of teaching and scientific research practice, the subject of architecture has formed relatively steady characteristic study content: taking architecture design, theory and architecture technology science as the major development direction, relying on solid scientific research foundation and strength of relevant subjects of Northeast Forestry University, to form the research direction of inter-subject and inter-major, which can mutually supplement and promote one another with enormous characteristics. The subject has abundant scientific research results, and undertakes three major projects of provincial level or above, including national key R&D plan sub-project, provincial nature science fund and a major project of the provincial department of education. As the scientific research backbone, the subject has participated in two projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, energy-saving transformation of Harbin residential houses, non-barrier regulation study of the Harbin Construction Committee, the Harbin historical architecture surveying and mapping, and other 20 projects of technology service. The scientific research expenditure of the subject is more than two million yuan and the number of academic theses publication is more than 200, including 5 SCI and 20 EI theses in relevant fields. The teachers of the subject have been striving on the front line of scientific research and social service all the time, and keep closely cooperative relationships with Architecture Design Research School of Harbin Institute of Technology, Heilongjiang Fangzhou Architecture Design Firm, Heilongjiang Chinese and American Architecture Design and Research Institute and the Project Prospecting Design School of Northeast Forestry University. We have achieved social impact in architecture design and research, including completing the historical architecture surveying and mapping of the Harbin Planning Bureau, plenty of service projects of the Harbin municipal construction committee, and achieving a good social reputation. The teachers of the subject undertake the climate adaptation plan of the villages and towns in cold areas and the research and compiling work of environmental optimization technology of the Ministry of Science and Technology, who make active exploration to the research and demonstration of the key technology of the construction of green villages and towns in cold areas. The subject also improves the landscape allocation model and rational allocation technology of human environmental quality of the villages and towns in the cold areas, to construct a low-cost landscape project and construction technology with the cold area characteristics.
